All Vision Therapy Treatment Programmes

Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)

Multimodal vision therapy to develop binocular vision and improve clarity in the weaker eye. Effective for children and adults through monocular training and binocular integration.

Strabismus (Eye Turn)

Advanced eye alignment therapy focusing on binocular coordination, depth perception, and functional vision development - without surgery. Suitable for all ages.

Convergence Insufficiency

Structured near vision coordination therapy to eliminate headaches, double vision, and reading fatigue caused by poor eye teaming. Evidence-based and clinically proven.

Autism Spectrum & Vision

Specialised vision therapy for individuals on the autism spectrum to address visual processing difficulties, sensory sensitivity, eye contact challenges, and visual-motor integration that affect daily function and learning.

ADHD & Visual Processing

Visual tracking and processing therapy to improve attention, reduce visual stress, and support academic performance in children with ADHD and attention difficulties.

TBI & Concussion Rehab

Neuro-optometric rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury patients to restore visual function, balance, and spatial awareness after concussion or neurological injury.

Dyslexia Visual Support

Visual efficiency training to improve eye tracking, focusing, and reading comfort as part of multidisciplinary dyslexia support for children and adults.

Myopia Management

Evidence-based myopia control programmes to slow short-sight progression in children. Includes advanced optical solutions, syntonics light therapy, and personalised vision therapy.

Syntonics Phototherapy

Light-based neuro-optometric therapy using selected visible light frequencies to improve visual efficiency, peripheral awareness, and neurological regulation for a range of visual conditions.

Primitive Reflex Integration

Neuro-developmental therapy integrating retained primitive reflexes to improve posture, visual coordination, learning, balance, and sensory processing in children.

Low Vision Rehabilitation

Functional vision rehabilitation helping individuals maximise remaining vision and improve daily independence through optical aids, adaptive strategies, and personalised training.

Visual Snow Syndrome

Neuro-optometric management for persistent visual disturbances including static-like visual noise, light sensitivity, and visual afterimages associated with Visual Snow Syndrome.

Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation

Specialised neuro-visual rehabilitation for individuals with visual difficulties following stroke, TBI, MS, and other neurological conditions affecting eye teaming, tracking, and spatial awareness.

Related Vision Conditions

Every treatment programme at Caring Vision Therapy begins with a comprehensive functional vision evaluation. This assessment identifies the specific combination of conditions present - because binocular vision dysfunction, oculomotor dysfunction, accommodative dysfunction, and visual processing disorder frequently co-occur and must all be addressed for lasting results.

Binocular Vision Dysfunction

Binocular vision dysfunction is present in the majority of patients referred for vision therapy. It encompasses convergence insufficiency, divergence excess, accommodative esotropia, and vertical heterophoria - each requiring a specific evidence-based treatment protocol.

Oculomotor Dysfunction

Oculomotor dysfunction - impaired eye movement control - is the most common cause of reading difficulties, line-skipping, and poor copying from the board in school-age children. Vision therapy specifically retrains the saccadic and tracking systems through progressive clinical protocols.

Visual Processing Disorder

Visual processing disorder affects how the brain interprets visual input - impacting reading comprehension, maths, spatial awareness, and visual memory. Specific sub-skills assessed and treated include visual motor integration (VMI), eye-hand coordination, figure-ground discrimination, visual sequential memory, spatial orientation, visual closure, and directionality. These deficits underlie academic underperformance in children with otherwise normal eyesight and intelligence, and frequently coexist with dyslexia, ADHD, and poor handwriting.

How vision affects school performance

Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)

Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) - also called cerebral visual impairment - is a neurological condition where the visual cortex cannot interpret what the eyes see correctly, even when the eyes themselves are healthy. It is the leading cause of childhood visual impairment in India and is strongly associated with premature birth, cerebral palsy, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and periventricular leukomalacia (PVL). Standard eye tests return normal results in CVI, which is why it is consistently missed without specialist neuro-visual assessment. Our rehabilitation programme uses phase-based CVI intervention aligned with the CVI Range assessment framework developed by Dr. Christine Roman-Lantzy.

Low Vision Rehabilitation & Magnification

Low vision rehabilitation provides structured training with optical and electronic magnification devices for patients with AMD, diabetic macular oedema, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, and other conditions causing permanent central or peripheral vision loss. We assess and prescribe the right magnifier type - spectacle-mounted, hand-held, stand, desktop CCTV, or portable electronic - matched to the patient's specific vision loss pattern and daily tasks.

Symptoms You Should Not Ignore

These symptoms are frequently reported before diagnosis. If your child or you experience any of these, a specialist functional vision evaluation - not a standard eye test - is the right first step.

Double vision while reading - text overlapping or appearing double
Eye coordination problems - eyes not tracking together
Skipping lines or losing place repeatedly while reading
Headaches after near tasks: reading, homework, screens
Child reading slowly - significantly below age expectation
Difficulty concentrating reading - specific to visual tasks

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to start vision therapy?
No. You can book directly at Caring Vision Therapy without a referral. We begin with a comprehensive functional vision evaluation - assessing binocular vision, oculomotor function, accommodation, visual processing, and eye health - and then recommend the most appropriate treatment path. If a referral to another specialist is needed, we will advise you clearly at the evaluation stage.
How do I know which vision therapy treatment I need?
The right treatment is determined only after a comprehensive functional vision evaluation - not before. Many patients arrive thinking they need one specific treatment (e.g., lazy eye therapy) and discover additional or different conditions (e.g., binocular vision dysfunction or oculomotor dysfunction) that change the treatment approach. Our evaluation takes 60–90 minutes and provides a complete clinical picture before any treatment commitment is made.
Can vision therapy treat double vision while reading?
Double vision while reading caused by binocular vision dysfunction, convergence insufficiency, or accommodative dysfunction responds very well to structured vision therapy. In the majority of cases, symptoms resolve completely or significantly within a 16–24 week programme. Learn more about binocular vision therapy or book an evaluation today.

Common Signs That May Indicate a Vision Problem

Many parents search for answers to these specific behaviours before they know a functional vision problem could be the cause. If any of these apply to your child, a comprehensive vision evaluation is the right first step.
